JC’s Drummin Music Opens in Rochester 1990.
The first few years were slow growth. JC rented a small, five hundred-square-foot space, which was big enough for teaching and stocking essentials. More and more drum students and drummers discovered us. We were EVERYTHING DRUMS! JC taught, sold, repaired, and built drums. Then, in 1996, a reporter from the Detroit News came in and did a story on us. That really helped put us on the map as a great destination studio & specialty store. Eventually, we moved to a larger space, then a larger space, then an even larger space on a main street. Drummers visited from all over the states, many famous ones too. We were indeed a destination drum store!
Take two – The internet and shift to online. Sadly, many folks found the online convenience greater than the drive. JC decided to grow the students and adapt the new Rochester School of Music Rhythm & Groove (a division of JCs Drummin Music)
We now teach Piano – Guitar – Bass – Ukulele and of course, Drums & Percussionists! Rhythm Section Specialists! JCs Drum School & Supply is still selling sticks – drum heads -cymbals – drums and more to all those who care to support local business!
